I’m Not Who I Once Was

Do you struggle with your identity on who you are in Christ? OR Do you struggle with the person you’ve become since Christ entered your life?

1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

My past does not define me. It does not hold me down. It’s trials and temptations were periods of growth not disappointment and shame.

Because of my Heavenly Father I am not who I thought I was…I am more. Yes, I could tell you I am worthy or that I am beautifully made in Him but let’s face it we’re always told that as young Christian women.

I’m here to tell you that because I am made in my Father’s image I will experience struggles, I will have temptations and I will be shunned by those that don’t believe but it is in those moments that my faith and belief in Him will triumph.

I will experience that which is less than ideal in my lifetime and so will you but it is how you respond in those circumstances that will build your character and your faith.

Friend if you’re worried about who you are or who you were…I’m a proof that God takes and makes a beautiful ministry out of a pile of ashes.

Here are 3 ways you can ground yourself in the truth that you are more because of Him:

1. Know whose you are!

Galatians 3:26 “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”

2. Know that you are blessed!

Ephesians 1:3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

3. You are an ambassador for Christ!

2 Corinthians 5:20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
