The Beginning

I (Alex) was sitting in my Thursday night Bible study when the women spoke the words, "I struggle with comparison, and my anxiety spikes every time I scroll through Instagram."

I felt their pain in my heart because I, too, struggled with my worth as a woman feeling the world's pressure. It wasn't until I entirely found my identity in Christ alone, and through his Word, he showed me my worth.

These were my sisters, the women with whom I was doing Bible study. I wondered how I could help them? I worked at my full-time job when I thought that I could create a Biblical-based Instagram account geared at reminding my friends of their worth and value in Christ.

So, on my lunch break sitting in my car while eating lunch in the parking lot, Worthy of Grace began. I started the account to encourage my friends as they scrolled through Instagram, and God opened the door for women across the globe to join.

As the account began growing, so did the demands for more content. I was overwhelmed and started praying for a co-leader. I prayed for an authentic relationship, someone who loved the Lord. I prayed for someone to help join in the work of empowering women to know their worth and value in Christ.

Insert Cassidy! I met Cassidy through an online mentorship course. She has such a fantastic story of faith, trust, and being Holy Spirit led. I would love to tell you her story, but she will do a much better job at it than me. 

A Season of Growth

In fall 2019, I (Cassidy) felt the Lord leading me to take one of the biggest steps of faith I had taken thus far in my life. It wasn’t an easy one, but the stirring in my spirit could not be ignored. 

This step of faith-- or should I say leap of faith-- led me to an online mentorship course where I soon would meet Alex. 

Throughout the course, God strengthened my faith and my spiritual giftings, as well as reignited an old passion for art, soon leading me to begin my own Instagram ministry. There, I shared my art that was inspired by the Holy Spirit, as well as Biblical encouragement. 

Not long after starting my Instagram, Alex reached out to me. I was thrilled when she asked me to join alongside her at Worthy of Grace as a co-leader. It was refreshing to work together with a sister in Christ, reaching a wider audience, and stepping into a new season of what God was doing. 

Little did I know the even greater work the Lord was about to do through my obedience to say yes to Alex’s request. 

It all started as just writing and posting devotionals a couple of times per week. Eventually Paula Sue joined our team, and we could see that God was truly moving. But soon the Lord gave us a vision to refine, grow, and take Worthy of Grace to something more. 

I found the Lord answering prayers and fulfilling dreams that I had truly forgotten about through the sisterhood and planning of the new Worthy of Grace. My excitement for what God is doing through this ministry is so great, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this community. Paula will have to tell you the rest of the story!

Over the last few years I (Paula) have battled with my faith because I was hurt and I took my brokenness as a punishment from God. In my lowest lows of postpartum anxiety I was searching for affirmation that this brokenness would be turned to restoration and my experiences as a woman lost in the thick of motherhood would be used for a larger purpose in my life and those around me. I stumbled across the Worthy of Grace account and found an unfamiliar space to me...one of encouragement! 

I began to talk to Alex and shared my story with her which I had not done even with my closest friends. As I prayed for God to reveal what he wanted me to do in this season of life, Alex too was asking for God to provide someone to also come into Worthy of Grace. It was complete divine intervention that opened this specific door to allow me to share my story and heart through this platform. Through God’s faithfulness He brought me two sisters and weaves our lives and stories together. 

I now see that my brokenness was my Father’s way of asking me to surrender to HIS will and to have faith in his power and purpose for my life. And I’m so glad I did! 

Conclusion

Our stories weave together through redemption in Christ, faith in his plan, and unwavering trust that he is for us! Worthy of Grace is a story of women who relentlessly pursue Christ. Women who cheer each other on, speak the truth in love, and never take their eyes off God. Worthy of Grace is a sisterhood. We are here to champion you in a Christ-centered community to be your authentic self while deepening your faith, and to remind you that because of Christ, you are worthy!
